LOWER DANUBE. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.11 g, 12 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club formed out of dots in his right hand and lion skin in his left; to inner left, II; around, imitative legend. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. Lukanc 1322. OTA Class 4. Very well centered on a broad flan. Light scratches and with minor stress marks on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
